Monaco are expected to trigger the buy option in his loan deal but Fati refused to confirm his next move when asked about what comes next. “I don’t know yet. I hope to finish the season and make the decision I think is best for me and my family,” he told Cadena SER. “You have to accept things as they are. My dream was to succeed at Barça, but a lot has happened that people don’t know about or see. “In football, everything moves very fast. There’s no patience. Destiny has chosen this for me. We’ll see what happens.” Fati was also asked about his time at Barcelona and if being handed the No. 10 shirt was a heavy responsibility to take on following ’s departure. “I’d say no, but it’s true that people always talk a lot. It’s a responsibility because the best players in history have had it,” he explained. “The club offered it to me and I accepted.” That shirt is now worn by and Fati admits he been really impressed by the teenager. “Yes, he’s incredible. He has a gift. He’s very focused,” he said. “What has surprised me most is his mental strength.” Fati’s 11 goals this season for Monaco have fuelled speculation that he could get a shock World Cup 2026 call-up for Spain, something Ansu says he would love: “Yes, of course. It’s a great responsibility to represent your country. It would be an incredible prize. I’m ready.”
