Many bumps in the road surfaced throughout the 2025-26 season for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Despite this, Anthony Edwards has led the team to the NBA Playoffs as the sixth-seeded team in the Western Conference. They will face a rough Denver Nuggets squad which features Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and Aaron Gordon in the first round. However, this does not seem to bother Edwards at all.
The strategy for beating the Nuggets will be quite simple. Anthony Edwards just needs to keep their offense running fast so that Nikola Jokic does not get the chance to dictate the tempo at halfcourt. They have been doing this all-season long and have 116.8 offensive rating through playing with a 100.5 pace which is ranked ninth in the league.
All of this will surely not be final. The Timberwolves will be forced to make some adjustments in the NBA Playoffs but Edwards posits they have a big X factor which would be of great help, viaĀ Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.

"Jaden is super quiet. Naz is quiet, but he is outgoing around the right people. Me, I just donāt care who Iām around. Iām going to be myself no matter what. And I think we all just click. We talk to each other all the time, every day and we get on each other when weāre not doing something right. I think thatās the main thing.," the Timberwolves star said.
Edwards, Jaden McDaniels, and Naz Reid have been together for a little bit over six seasons now. They have been the core foundation of the Timberwolves and the reason why this squad has been to two Western Conference Finals. Sure, the regular season may not have gone their way after falling short of just one game to reach 50 wins. However, their belief in each other and communication never withers.
"Weāre able to talk to each other no matter how it is, if itās in the midst of a game, no matter how it comes out. If Iām cussinā them out or if theyāre cussinā me out, they know how to respond. Thatās what I love about them," Edwards added.
The 2026 NBA Playoffs marks the fifth postseason that Reid, McDaniels, and Edwards are leading the charge. If they get it done against Jokic and the Nuggets, things do get easier.
