Paolo Campinoti has warned Aprilia that Jorge Martin might leave again, just as he did with Pramac, even if he wins the MotoGP title.
In 2024, Martin made history by becoming the first rider in the MotoGP era to win a world title with an independent team. He edged out Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Marquez to take the championship.
Following his title win, Martin left Pramac and signed with Aprilia, where he remains under contract.
So far in 2026, Martin has 90 points and two podiums but sits 11 points behind teammate Marco Bezzecchi in the standings.

During a chat with Sky Sports Italia, Pramac team boss Campinoti said Martin is his pick to win the championship and pointed out that he could win the title and then leave, just like he did after 2024.
Campinoti said: âYes, in my opinion, Martin can do what he did with us: win the World Championship and go away.
âBezzecchi is very good, very fast. But Martin is 10 points away and is still gaining familiarity with the bike. I wouldnât underestimate him, for me it will be a Jorge-Bezzecchi duel.â
When asked whether Marquez, the 2025 world champion, is still the man to beat, Campinoti replied: âYes, he is, but now he is not in the ideal position. I would bet more on those two (Martin and Bezzecchi).â
Paolo Campinoti has indicated that Martin could leave, similar to his departure from Pramac, despite his recent championship win.

Aprilia lead the way in the constructorsâ championship with 125 points, ahead of Ducati on 106, while KTM, Honda and Yamaha are all playing catch-up early in the season.
The team have won three of the four races so far this year, though Campinoti made it clear that DallâIgnaâs presence could see Ducati respond strongly as the campaign unfolds.
Campinoti responded: âI donât think there is a reduction, I see it as more than that. Aprilia have overtaken Ducati now and itâs quite clear to me.
âTheyâve won three of four races so far. All four riders are doing well too. Weâre not talking about just one person here. They even struggled on tracks like Austin where they used to dominate before.
âAprilia are clearly better than Ducati at this point. That doesnât mean things canât change though; underestimating DallâIgna would be a mistake because he knows what heâs doing.
âIâm sure Gigi will come up with something again soon, but for now thereâs no doubt Aprilia have a real edge.â
