Surveys indicate that the Green Bay Packers are the most hated NFL team, sharing this title with the New York Jets and Las Vegas Raiders. The Packers are particularly disliked in six states, including Illinois and Michigan.
It's the offseason and I get press releases. Lots of press releases. Studies and surveys by companies that want to remain on fans' radar are predominant.
Often, the questions are of the "best quarterback in the league dumping the ball off to the halfback on third down and 25 on the 10 yard line when it's 34 degrees" sort.
So lets dive in.
Rotowire.com, a fantasy sports news, advice and analysis company in Madison, contends the Packers are the most hated NFL team, an "honor" they share with the New York Jets and the Las Vegas Raiders. According to RotoWire, Green Bay is the most hated team in six states: Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota. With the first three being home to the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings, that's hardly news.
List Wire, on the other hand, says the Packers are the most popular team in Iowa, whereas, bizarrely, CableTV.com says the San Francisco 49ers are Iowa's dream team. Make of that what you will.
Proximity appears to breed contempt. All of hates the Jets, and most of the middle West hates the Raiders, who were probably hated less when they were in Oakland/Los Angeles/Oakland/etc. Vegas is too close for comfort.
The Packers are viewed as the most hated NFL team due to their rivalry with teams like the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions, as well as their strong fan base.
The Packers are the most hated team in Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
The New York Jets and Las Vegas Raiders also share the title of most hated NFL team alongside the Packers.
Factors include historical rivalries, competitive performance, and the perception of the team's fan base.

Apparently, success also makes a team hated, the Jets and Raiders notwithstanding. RotoWire points out the Packers are the third-most successful team in this century, after New England and Pittsburgh, who combined have as many hate-filled states as the Packers. RotoWire also says the Packers have 12 championships, to which the Packers themselves would take exception. They count 13.
Curiously, the Atlanta Falcons are the next most-hated team. I've got to ask, why?

CSB (Canada Sports Betting) says Lambeau Field is the most comfortable stadium in North America. It is tied with the very different Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis for the designation.
CSB used a custom Uncomfortability Score based on language used in more than 100,000 Google reviews, tracking terms like “crowded,” “cold,” “long lines,” and “overpriced” to measure fan experience across 101 professional sports venues. Lambeau had the fewest complaints, including in regard to crowding, seating, and amenities. Take that metal-bench haters.
The Washington Commanders' Northwest Stadium was deemed the most uncomfortable, by a lot. In a rating where 10 is the worst, the stadium scored 7.61, well ahead of Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, home of the Spurs, at 4.67. Lambeau scored 0.71.
Northwest Stadium got dinged for being old with outdated infrastructure, traffic bottlenecks, slow entry, exit and movement, and not being domed.
Lambeau Field, which is an older outdoor stadium, had fewer complaints about those same categories than other NFL locations. Fans reported a smoother, more enjoyable game-day experience than at other venues across the league and in other leagues, too.
SIXT, a car-rental company based in Germany, asked several A.I. platforms to pick the No. 1 landmarks in each state. Lambeau Field was the recommendation for Wisconsin, which any living, breathing Packers fan could have told them.
The top five landmarks, picked by all five A.I. platforms used for this survey, were the Grand Canyon in Arizona, the Golden Gate Bridge in California, Glacier National Park in Montana, the Las Vegas strip in Nevada and The Alamo in Texas.
SIXT said Lambeau is "one of the most storied venues in professional football. Known for its passionate fan base and the legendary 'Frozen Tundra,' Lambeau Field offers visitors an immersive look into decades of NFL history. From the Packers Hall of Fame to the bowl itself, where generations of fans have braved the cold to cheer on their team, the stadium brings the spirit and legacy of football to life."
To identify which landmarks were recommended most, SIXT analyzed responses from the top five A.I. platforms, including Google Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and Meta AI.
SportsbookReview.com asked 3,013 Wisconsin fans If given the choice, in which stadium would they want their ashes scattered?
It takes no imagination to assume that Lambeau Field was first, followed by Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, and American Family Field and Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.
Not satisfied with that, they also asked how far fans would go to make this final wish a reality: 23% said they would still consider scattering ashes even if it wasn’t allowed, and 65% of scatterers would choose the field, as opposed to in the stands or outside the stadium. About 54% believe that sort of thing should be allowed, under controlled conditions.
It should be noted, the Packers are obsessive about not touching the grass. If you dumped ashes on the field, security would descend from all corners and they'd give you a pair of tweezers and demand you remove every particle. In case this is giving people any ideas.
