Arne Slot handed Mohamed Salah boost with three Liverpool stars set to return against Aston Villa

Arne Slot will welcome Mohamed Salah back from injury in a boost for Liverpool to close out the Premier League season.

Salah has been out since picking up a “ injury against Crystal Palace last month, which has seen the Egyptian forward miss games against Manchester United and Chelsea.

But Salah has shaken off a hamstring problem and will hope to feature against Villa, who are battling the Reds for fourth place in the Premier League, while a final game at Anfield against Brentford awaits on 24 May to conclude the 2025/26 campaign.

“Konate is OK, trained with us. Salah is available for a few minutes but hopefully can come in,” Slot said ahead of the Reds facing Aston Villa on Friday evening.

“Alisson, trained with us, let's see where he is. Wirtz - stomach infection so let's see how fit he is. He is on antibiotics."

The Dutch coach also lost his patience after being asked about the future of Alisson Becker beyond the current campaign.

“Boring... same old answer,” remarked Slot. “I am reading the same as you but I won't talk about it over here.

“You can ask as many times as you want in different ways, our fans need to support Alisson if it's his first or last. Our fans will support him tomorrow and next week and the same goes for next week."
