Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta was in Istanbul at the weekend to scout a trio of Galatasaray stars.
Berta was in attendance as Galatasaray beat arch-rivals Fenerbahce 3-0 to move a step closer to Turkish Süper Lig title success.
According to AS, Berta was keen to run the rule over forward Victor Osimhen, as Arsenal plot another statement striker signing this summer.
Last summer’s recruit, Viktor Gyokeres, has failed to live up to expectations despite 18 goals, and Osimhen is viewed as a potential upgrade at number nine.
Arsenal have made direct contact with Galatasaray officials to understand the striker’s potential availability ahead of the summer window.
Osimhen has scored 57 goals in 72 games for Galatasaray and was the focus of Berta’s scouting mission. He opened the scoring in the 3-0 win over Fenerbahce at Rams Park.
Alongside the Nigerian, the Arsenal chief also assessed winger Barış Alper Yilmaz and goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır.
Yilmaz has been on the radar of Europe’s top teams since impressing for Türkiye at Euro 2024. He has eight goals and 10 assists in the Süper Lig this season.
