Arsenal star Ben White will not require surgery on his injured knee
Arsenal star Ben White will not require surgery on his injured knee, according to Sky Sports. It was reported yesterday that the Gunners defender is out of the season in a huge blow for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta. The Emirates Stadium club will be without White for their Premier League games against Burnley and Crystal Palace. He is also out of the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain but could be fit to return to action before the World Cup in June.
“We’re hearing that Arsenal defender Ben White will not require surgery on his injured knee,” Sky Sports said.
“So good news for the Arsenal fans. Still a big knee injury, no time scale on his recovery, but it’s understood he’s likely to be fit for the World Cup if selected with England.
“Arsenal confirmed yesterday that he sustained a significant medial ligament injury and would miss their final two Premier League games. So he’s going to miss those games, but he doesn’t need surgery.”
White will hope to return sooner rather than later to boost his chances of playing at the World Cup with the Three Lions. That he does not require surgery is a positive update as going under the knife might have seen him spend months on the sidelines recuperating.
