Houston Astros shortstop Jeremy PeƱa doubled and reached base three times during his rehab assignment with the Hooks on Tuesday, May 12, in a game against the Amarillo Sod Poodles at Whataburger Field.
PeƱa finished 1-for-2 with two walks before leaving the game in the sixth inning after being hit by a pitch. Pena was also upended on a defensive play in the infield, though he appeared to escape uninjured.
PeƱa is currently rehabbing a Grade 1 right hamstring strain that has sidelined him since April 13.
Astros closer Josh Hader and outfielder Jake Meyers were also rehabbing with the Hooks on Tuesday.
Hader, who is currently on the 60-day injured list with left biceps tendinitis, tossed a scoreless inning in relief, allowing one hit and striking out one.
Meyers, who suffered a Grade 2 right oblique strain April 8, went 0-for-4 with a strikeout.
