Athens Bible makes state, Lawrence County, Ardmore set to face in north regional final

Lawrence County 7, Scottsboro 0: The Red Devils conquered the first of two demons in the first game of regionals, beating a team that helped send them home last year in Scottsboro. They advance to face the team that sent them home last season, Boaz.

McKinley McCaghren was 2-for-2 with a pair of RBIs while pitching four shutout innings and six strikeouts. Reagan Smith had two RBIs. Alivia Terry knocked in a run. Bella Cross pitched the final inning with two strikeouts and no hits.

Athens Bible 8, South Lamar 6: The Trojans plated two runs in the bottom of the sixth to seal a win in the 1A losers bracket of the North Regional.

Ayssa Butler was 4-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Kate Gwin went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs. Harper Mims and Ann Pressnell both knocked in a run each.

Athens Bible 17, Lynn 4: Athens Bible scored 13 runs in the second inning to run-rule Lynn in the North 1A losers bracket. They will see Shoals Christian for a spot at state.

Destiny Burns had five RBIs and a double. Hannah Robison knocked in three runs with a double while 2-for-3. Kate Gwin and Ann Pressnell both had two RBIs each. Harper Mims and Audrey Barnes both knocked in a run each.

Athens Bible 13, Shoals Christian 4: The Trojans outhit Shoals Christian 12-4 in the North losers bracket final, securing their spot at the state tournament next week in Oxford.

Alyssa Butler had five RBIs while 3-for-5 with a double and triple. Destiny Burns was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Hannah Robison, Hadley Robison, Harper Mims, and Allison Collins all knocked in a run each.

Boaz 10, East Limestone 0: Kailey Matthews was 2-for-3 with two doubles as she made two of East Limestone's three hits in a first-round loss.

Mahaley Lassie had East Limestone's other hit.

Scottsboro 12, East Limestone 5: The Indians' season ended Monday after a loss to Scottsboro in the North Regional losers bracket.

Mahaley Lassie had two RBIs on a homerun. B Baker, Kailey Matthews and S Brown all knocked in a run each.

Pleasant Valley 14, Decatur Heritage 0: Despite four hits, Decatur Heritage was shut out in the first game of the East regional tournament on Wednesday.

Cami Harris was 2-for-3. Anna Tidewell and Brinley Aldridge had a hit each.

North Sand Mountain 19, Decatur Heritage 4: Decatur Heritage was limited to just three hits in the East losers bracket, ending their season.

Brinley Adlridge picked up two RBIs. Laylah Sparkman knocked in a run.

Cedar Bluff 7, Falkville 2: Falkville collected eight hits but could only score two runs in a first round loss in the East regional in Albertville.

Peyton Holloway and Isla Brown knocked in a run each. Karsyn Echols was 2-for-3.

Pisgah 13, Falkville 1: The Blue Devils were held to just two hits in a losers bracket loss in the North Regional, ending their season.

Maggie Hallbrooks had Falkville's only RBI on a base-hit. Peyton Holloway had a hit.
