Auburn men's basketball center Emeka Opurum has announced his plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, per Pete Nakos of On3.
After sitting out the majority of the season for the Tigers due to an undisclosed medical condition, Opurum has elected to enter the NCAA transfer portal. The 7-footer saw the floor a total of six times in his solo campaign with Auburn. He averaged 3.8 points and 2.5 rebounds in those appearances.
Opurum's best game of the season came in the Tigers' 95-67 win over Merrimack. He dropped 11 points, four rebounds, two blocks, and one steal in 19 minutes of play. His last appearance of the season was on Nov. 11, 2026, against Saint John's, and he recorded one shot attempt and one rebound in six minutes on the floor.

Auburn had recruited him from Butler Community College in Kansas, and previously, he had been a part of the NBA Africa program. The Tigers bleed another player from Steven Pearl's first year leading the program. Pearl has brought in size through the portal with forward Adam Olsen (South Alabama), forward Thomas Dowd (Troy), forward Owen Freeman (Creighton), and center Bukky Oboye (Santa Clara).
