Chad Tracy Hints at Aggressive Play for Red Sox After First Win
Eric Guevara earns SEC Player of the Week honors from the league offices on Monday, Apr. 27, after his performance in Auburn's midweek win and series win over Oklahoma.
Marking his second in his career, Guevara earns another SEC Player of the Week nod. The junior infielder led the team with nine hits and tied with nine RBI in Auburn's four games last week. In Auburn's midweek game against Samford, he homered a two-run home run that went a distance of 445 feet. His next appearance at the plate, he drove home Auburn's ninth run on an RBI single.
Guevara carried the momentum at bat into the Tigers' home series against Oklahoma by going 3-for-5 in the opener for the series. The highlight of his performance from the week was in the third game of the series against the Sooners by going a perfect 4-for-4. He recorded two doubles, one home run, and three RBI, helping the Tigers clinch the series against the Sooners.
Guevara now sits at fourth in the SEC in batting average with an average of .403. He currently has 18 runs, six doubles, six home runs, and 18 RBI on the year for the Tigers. The next matchup for Auburn is a road test against Texas A&M on Friday, May 1 start the weekend road series.
