Auburn vs Texas A&M: Game two live updates, highlights from Saturday

The No. 8 Auburn Tigers attacked No. 7 Texas A&M early in game one of Saturday's doubleheader, and will aim to clinch the series on Saturday evening.

Auburn baseball set the tone of game one by rattling off six runs with zero outs in the 2nd inning, and scored multiple runs in three of the game's final five innings to defeat Texas A&M, 18-5, in seven innings. Auburn's lineup logged 19 hits in the win, with six batters logging multiple RBI. Chase Fralick, Ethin Bingaman, and Brandon McCraine each smashed home runs in the game and combined to plate 10 of Auburn's 18 runs. Andreas Alvarez went the distance by striking out 11 batters and giving up five runs on six hits on 114 pitches.

Game two of the doubleheader will feature a quality pitching matchup between Auburn's Jake Marciano and Texas A&M's Aiden Sims. Marciano ranks in the top five in the SEC in several categories, including ERA (2.04), looking strikeouts (23), and walks allowed (9). Sims is 8-0 and has given up just four earned runs over his last two starts, with 13 strikeouts.
