Auburn women's tennis set to host NCAA tournament opening rounds

Auburn women's tennis earns the No. 2 overall seed in the 2026 NCAA Championship, announced on Monday, Apr. 27

The Tigers were selected to be the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Championship. Set to start Friday, May 1, Auburn will host the opening rounds on Friday and Saturday. The region will include Miami, North Florida, and Bryant. The Tigers will start play against Bryant in the first round on Friday, with the time to be announced. Bryant is the No. 4 seed in the region.

“We are excited to host the opening rounds of the NCAA Tournament again,” Auburn head coach Jordan Szabo said. “It’s a great honor and not easy to do. Only 16 teams host, so we’re very excited about that. We get the opportunity to play in front of our home fans and our home environment, which is really special."

This year for the Tigers has been big for them, collecting their first SEC regular season title and SEC Tournament Championship. First for Auburn, do continue, with this being the highest ranking for the program at No. 2 in the NCAA Championship. This broke the record set by them the year prior as the No. 9 seed in the tournament. All these achievements are coming in year two for Szabo, who has led the Tigers to a 32-3 record with a 12-2 SEC record.
