Turns out, Necas wasn't even supposed to be on the ice.
Necas told The Hockey News after the game that he noticed the Avs were short a man and jumped on.
It worked out nicely as he funneled around the back of the goal and picked out Kulak for the winner.

There's no telling how the game ends if Necas doesn't show these instincts.
Clearly, though, the Kulak goal doesn't happen without the way Necas sliced around the defense to deliver the perfect setup:
