The Wisconsin Badgers have been hitting gold in their 2027 class with the in-state recruits. Now, they’ve finally got their first out-of-state commit in the cycle, and it’s a big one: four-star quarterback Jack Sorgi.
Sorgi is the son of former Wisconsin quarterback Jim Sorgi, who played for the Badgers from 2000-03 before being selected in the sixth round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts.
The four-star recruit had been one of Wisconsin’s top targets in the Class of 2027, as the Badgers were his second reported offer, and were a clear contender after his de-commitment from the Louisville Cardinals.
Sorgi had an official visit planned to Wisconsin for the last weekend of May, and will now head to campus as a commit. He’s the ninth prospect to commit to Wisconsin in the 2027 cycle, with all eight previous commits hailing from in the state.
Ranked the No. 7 quarterback in the state of Indiana, Sorgi stands 6’4, 205 pounds, and threw for 2,911 yards, 31 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions as a junior in 2025. He also had 40 carries for 156 yards and two scores on the ground.
Sorgi is Wisconsin’s fifth composite four-star commitment in the class, joining running back Kingston Allen, offensive lineman Cole Reiter, tight end Korz Loken, and offensive lineman Hunter Mallinger.
Jack Sorgi is a four-star quarterback and the son of former Wisconsin quarterback Jim Sorgi, who played for the Badgers from 2000-2003.
The article does not specify the reasons for Jack Sorgi's de-commitment from Louisville, but it indicates that Wisconsin was a clear contender for his commitment afterward.
Jack Sorgi's commitment is significant as he is the first out-of-state recruit for the Badgers in their 2027 class, enhancing their recruiting momentum.
