The La Liga veteran goalkeeper’s current contract with the Basque club expires in 2027, meaning he would enter the final year of his deal in the summer.
As such, he would be available for a fee much lower than his release clause which reportedly stands at €70-75 million.
And, that figure could be less than €15 million, making him a very affordable option for Barcelona.
Deco has already held a meeting with Remiro’s agent to explore the possibility of a move, although reinforcing the goalkeeping position is not seen as a priority at this point.
Everything will depend on the shake-up in the goalkeeping department this summer, with Barcelona facing key decisions with the likes of Szczesny as well as young shot-stoppers like Diego Kochen, Aron Yaakobishvili, and Inaki Pena.
