Barcelona director meets La Liga winger’s agent; deal complicated due to Real Madrid involvement
FC Barcelona sporting director Deco has been keeping himself very busy in recent days, holding several meetings with agents to lay down the groundwork for the summer transfer window.
With the team falling short in the UEFA Champions League again, there is a need to make slight adjustments to the squad to turn it into one of the most competitive in Europe.
And the sporting department is already working actively in the transfer market through all kinds of moves.
According to SPORT, Deco held an extensive meeting with Juanma Lopez, CEO of Niagara Sports and agent of Victor Munoz, the talented Osasuna winger who is on Barcelona’s radar for the summer.
Although nothing can be ruled out in football, the operation is currently considered very complicated.
The 22-year-old winger, for starters, does not generate full consensus in every respect at Barcelona, who are not going through their best financial moment.
The specific La Liga winger has not been named in the article.
Real Madrid's involvement complicates the deal, but specific details about their role are not provided.

The Catalans know they would have to pay a significant fee to sign a reliable winger who can score and beat defenders. The club would prefer a player with more experience who can make a difference in major matches.
“We want a winger capable of making the difference in a Champions League semi-final and who, without being of an advanced age, has that mix of youth and experience that we need,” has been said in recent weeks in the club offices.
Moreover, at the club, there is also awareness that signing the player could be counterproductive, as it would automatically benefit Real Madrid.
The Spanish capital club could re-sign him for €8 million and also hold 50% of any future transfer. Therefore, if Barcelona were to pay the full release clause of €40 million, Real Madrid would receive €20 million.
All in all, the move is seen as complicated, but Deco has held a meeting with Munoz’s agent, who also happens to represent Barcelona’s starting goalkeeper Joan Garcia.
