Barcelona in talks with the agent of Tottenham Hotspur defender Luka Vuskovic

The agent of Tottenham Hotspur defender Luka Vuskovic, Pini Zahavi, has been holding talks with Barcelona, according to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg. The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club want to hand the Croatian a new deal and director of football Johan Lange has travelled to Hamburg to speak with him about his Spurs future. Vuskovic joined Hamburger on loan last summer and has been in fine form, but another loan deal is not on the cards.

Tottenham could look to bring the 19-year-old back to England if they stay up with Cristian Romero or Micky van de Ven expected to leave in the summer. However, Barcelona are looking to sign Vuskovic and his agent has been in talks with the La Liga club. Getting relegated to the Championship could end Spurs’ chances of holding on to the youngster and manager Roberto De Zerbi will be desperate to get the job done.

The North London club want to hand him a new and improved contract as he is currently on low wages after the five-year deal he signed last summer. The new deal will see him earn similar to other first-term players, but the likes of Barca and other bigwigs can match Tottenham’s offer and even be willing to pay him more to lure him away permanently.
