Barcelona pull out of the race for 19-year-old winger due to €100m demand
According to SPORT, it has come to light that Barcelona will not pursue Yan Diomande for multiple reasons.
Notably, the Blaugrana had seriously explored the possibility of signing the RB Leipzig winger.
In fact, less than a month ago, club officials held talks with the player’s new representatives.
At that stage, Diomande was seen as a leading option to reinforce the wide areas, especially with uncertainty surrounding attacking depth.
There was a scenario where the move made sense, as Marcus Rashford was expected to leave, and there were also internal discussions around Raphinha potentially accepting a lucrative offer.
But the situation has shifted. Rashford’s departure still looks likely, but Raphinha is now expected to stay at Camp Nou for at least another season and that changes everything.
With that, Barcelona’s urgency to invest heavily in another winger has cooled, and when the financial reality of the Diomande deal became clear, the club stepped away completely.

Reports from Germany suggest the asking price is set at around €100 million, a figure Barcelona are simply not willing to entertain.
From Leipzig’s point of view, there is no pressure to sell, as securing qualification for next season’s Champions League has strengthened their financial standing.
They are even pushing to extend Diomande’s contract, aiming to keep him for at least another year and potentially increase his value even further.
It’s worth noting just how quickly Diomande’s rise has happened.
His move from Leganes raised eyebrows at the time, with Leipzig investing €20 million in a player who had barely settled in Spain. But that gamble has paid off in a big way.
Now, the Ivorian winger is widely regarded as one of the most exciting attacking prospects in Europe.
