According to Mundo Deportivo, FC Barcelona have already submitted an offer to sign young Belgian winger Jesse Bisiwu and are waiting to see whether Club Brugge will approve his departure.
Bisiwu is one of the future prospects most highly valued by the sporting department at Barcelona. After closely monitoring him and compiling detailed reports, the club decided to take a step forward and make their move.
Bisiwu is under contract with Brugge until 2027 and, according to the report, Barcelona have already submitted an offer for the young forward through his representatives and are awaiting a response from the Belgian club.
The Catalan giants have also made progress with the player’s agents in reaching a potential contract agreement, with Bisiwu keen to join the club from next season.
Barcelona’s plan for Bisiwu is to replicate the strategy used last summer with Roony Bardghji, another young talent signed for a relatively low fee in a move led by Deco.
The idea is to pay a moderate transfer fee, taking into account that Bisiwu has only one year remaining on his contract, and initially register him with the reserve team while integrating him into the first-team environment.
In January, Barcelona director Deco and scouting chief Joao Amaral travelled to to begin negotiations with Club Brugge’s sporting director Devy Rigaux for Bisiwu.
