Baseball America ranks Florida State inside top 20 in new poll

Florida State baseball was swept in a three-game series for the first time this season by the Stanford Cardinal. After suffering a 4-3 loss, a 8-7 (in 11 innings) loss, and a 7-4 walkoff home run loss, FSU has taken a big tumble. With an overall record of 29-14 and a conference record of 12-9, they will need to get back on track quickly as the regular season nears completion.

Baseball America's top 25 rankings did not look too kindly on this, as in their rankings, Florida State is now at No. 17 in the country, a six-spot drop.

Last week, Florida State was ranked No. 11 nationally. Now, they are sandwiched between No. 16 Arkansas (29-16, 11-10 SEC) and No. 18 Nebraska (33-11, 17-4 Big Ten). The ACC now has just four ranked teams in the updated poll, with Florida State being the third-best ACC team behind the No. 2 North Carolina Tar Heels, No. 4 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and No. 14 Boston College Eagles.

FSU's upcoming schedule is somewhat challenging. A short home stint for a game against South Florida, then a three-game series against Pittsburgh. The Seminoles are 20-3 when they are at home. Fans can catch the former game on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on the ACC Network.
