Bayern ahead of Liverpool in race to sign £75m attacker
Newcastle United are reportedly open to selling Anthony Gordon to Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window – provided their valuation is met.
Liverpool and Arsenal are also believed to be interested in the England international, although Bayern currently appear to be leading the race for his signature.
The Reds are expected to strengthen their wide areas this summer, with a replacement for Mohamed Salah high on the agenda, while they may also look to upgrade on Cody Gakpo.
According to The Times, Bayern have shown strong interest in Gordon, and Newcastle would be open to discussions with the German champions.
Gordon was close to joining Liverpool in the summer of 2024, and while the Merseyside club remain keen, Bayern have now emerged as the frontrunners for the winger, who has registered 17 goals and four assists across all competitions this season.
***“It is TRUE: Anthony Gordon is on Bayern Munich’s radar.*It was an exclusive from CaughtOffside, and many English newspapers were discussing these rumours. I’ve since talked with someone at the club, and they’ve confirmed that this is indeed true. Bayern Munich are interested in the player and he’s on the shortlist (he’s also highly rated this time). My first question was whether FC Bayern needed Gordon, as he’s perhaps too good for the position of backup to Luis Diaz. The idea of Bayern Munich is now that if they end up signing the England international, they’d also get a suitable backup option for Diaz and Harry Kane. He can also play on the right side if Michael Olise needs a break. So, he’s the kind of player who could always play or be available on the bench. Effectively, you’re getting two or three players for the price of one. However, Gordon would still be very expensive! The Telegraph reported an asking price of £80m Newcastle are looking for if he were to leave this summer – that’s a lot of money!”
Bayern Munich is looking to strengthen their squad and sees Anthony Gordon as a valuable addition to their attacking options.
Anthony Gordon is valued at £75 million by Newcastle United, who are open to selling him if their valuation is met.
Liverpool and Arsenal are also interested in signing Anthony Gordon, making the competition for his signature quite intense.

Newcastle have reportedly placed a £75m valuation on Gordon, while Bayern are only willing to go as high as £55m – creating a significant gap between the two clubs.
Although Bayern’s interest is well known, no formal club-to-club negotiations have taken place yet, but talks with the player’s representatives are expected soon.
Newcastle may be forced to sanction a major sale this summer to fund squad improvements, and Gordon could be one of the players sacrificed.
It remains unclear whether Liverpool will step up their interest with a concrete offer, although they have the financial capability to do so.
Gordon may also be tempted to remain in the Premier League and join another top club, potentially reuniting with former teammate Alexander Isak.
There have also been suggestions that Gordon has already held discussions with Harry Kane regarding a possible move to Bayern.
