Bayern Munich will arrive at the Parc des Princes with an impressive armada, led by Harry Kane, Jamal Musiala, Michael Olise, and Luis Diaz.
But in a Champions League semifinal, certain details sometimes weigh as much as an absence from the starting lineup. In Paris, the German club will have to deal with an unusual lack in its technical area, at the very moment when every adjustment can count.
This lack has a name: Vincent Kompany. The Bayern coach will be suspended for the first leg of the semifinal against PSG after receiving a third yellow card in the Champions League during the second leg of the quarterfinal against Real Madrid.
The Belgian technician will therefore not be able to take his place on the Munich bench at the Parc des Princes, a significant constraint in such a tense and strategic match.
According to European rules, this suspension is not limited to simply being in the stands. Kompany will not be able to intervene as he usually would from the sidelines, nor will he be able to accompany his team directly under the same conditions as on a typical night. He will have to follow the match from a private box, accompanied by a UEFA official, with strict restrictions on his communication with the staff during the match.
In his absence, it is his assistant Aaron Danks who will have to take over on the Bavarian bench. Sky Sport reports that the Englishman will take command of the team during the first leg of this semifinal.

A change that does not necessarily overturn all of Bayern's preparation, but which necessarily modifies in-game management: substitutions, pressing adjustments, reactions to slow periods, and the emotional reading of the match.
Bayern, however, does not arrive weakened to the point of losing its status as a major threat. The German club remains one of the most powerful teams in Europe, with an offensive force capable of punishing any Parisian error.
But between this suspension of Kompany and a squad reduced by several absences, including Serge Gnabry, Raphael Guerreiro, Tom Bischof, Lennart Karl, and Sven Ulreich, Munich presents itself with less comfort than expected.
For PSG, this factor will obviously not be enough on its own to tip the balance in the semifinal. But it can count in the moments when the match escapes the initial plans.
Luis Enrique, for his part, will be able to intervene directly from his bench, adjust his team, calm or push his players depending on the scenario. On a night when the Parc promises to be electric, Kompany's absence from the sideline gives Paris a small, invisible advantage, but potentially precious.
