The 2025/26 season has truly been Bayern Munich’s season, with wins back to back and the kind of dominance the team has not asserted since the 2020 sextuple. The *Deutschermeister* secured the Bundesliga title with four games left, managed to get to the finals of the DFB-Pokal and the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League. The team is full of incredible players and a manager who is not only passionate about winning, but also about the project he is building in Bayern.
While Bayern may have technically secured the title, this team is certainly not one to sit back and turn down a chance to win. They may have remastered the idea of a *remontada*, beating FC Mainz 05 4-3 after being 3-0 down at half-time. With the four goals tonight, Bayern have scored a whopping 113 goals in the Bundesliga, with three games still left.
Now, Bayern could potentially chase a historic record set by Torino in 1947/48, when the Italian side scored 125 goals in their domestic season. This Torino side was one of the greatest in Italian history and they secured not only their fifth consecutive *Scudetto*, they also maintained an unbeaten home record. They had only four losses and all of them were within a single goal margin. This era was referred to as ‘Grande Torino’, such was their impact in Italian football.
(However, tragedy struck in 1949, as the entire squad was killed in a plane crash. While returning from Lisbon, the plane carrying the team crashed into the back of the Basilica of Superga in Turin. All on board, including coaching staff and referees, tragically died. The 1949/50 season saw the rise of , who scored 118 in 38 games.)
Torino did play 40 games, and every other team on the list after them played 38 — take for example, the 2012 side who are just behind Torino with 121 goals.
Bayern are arguably playing only 34 games which is grossly low compared to the others on this list. Currently, Bayern are placed 8th on the list — the highest they have ever been placed, with three games left. Heidenheim, Wolfsburg, and Koln await Bayern after this. Perhaps the answer lies in Kane’s presence — how many more games will the likes of Harry Kane, , Luis Díaz and play?
With three games left, can Bayern do this?
