Bayern Munich is set to discuss a potential transfer for Newcastle's Anthony Gordon in an important meeting today. The club is also in talks to extend Manuel Neuer's contract for another year.
There is a big meeting scheduled for today at SĂ€bener StraĂe where Bayern Munich will be deciding on plans for the summer and also on the future of some of its executives. One of primary names that will be discussed is Newcastle United attacker Anthony Gordon, who might be a seamless fit for the Bavarians, but is also a player that could carry a steep price tag:
â It is TRUE: Bayern have offered Anthony Gordon a five-year contract pending an agreement on a transfer fee with Newcastle. In Germany, itâs not possible to give players more than five years on a deal (like you can freely do in the Premier League). Bayern Munich know theyâll have to pay a really big transfer fee for Anthony Gordon, so itâs best to spread it over the course of a long-term contract. So, this is what theyâre offering Gordon, and also to ensure that they would be able to keep hold of the Englishman for the foreseeable future.
There are talks with the player, as weâve exclusively revealed on CF Bayern Insider. The agent from England was also already in Munich. You know, he has a German agent too, in Gordon Stipic-Wipfler. Now, the eyes are on Monday, at which point the supervisory board get together for a conference, where Max Eberl will discuss his plans for the summer. I heard they want to go all-in for an offensive player, and Anthony Gordon is at the top of the wishlist. But the transfer fee remains a problem. If weâre looking at ÂŁ80m â thatâs a lot of money for Bayern Munich.
Bayern Munich is considering signing Newcastle's Anthony Gordon and has offered him a five-year contract, pending agreement on a transfer fee.
The transfer fee for Anthony Gordon is expected to be around ÂŁ80 million, which Bayern Munich is cautious about exceeding.
Manuel Neuer is in talks with Bayern Munich to extend his contract for one more year, with positive signs indicating he may sign.
In addition to Bayern Munich, clubs like Liverpool and FC Barcelona are also eyeing Anthony Gordon.

A few weeks ago, I would have said a deal of this magnitude isnât possible. Now, I think the view of the supervisory board is shaped by the clear need for another forward player. PSG had Bradley Barcola on the bench. Bayern didnât have the same level of quality depth available to call upon. Lennart Karl is still recovering from injury and is a young talent. Nicolas Jackson doesnât have the quality Bayern are looking for (and they wonât buy him). So, they need one more player to bolster their attacking options, and this should be Anthony Gordon. The Gordon situation will be interesting to watch. There are several clubs interested in him and he will command a big (but not unaffordable) transfer fee. Bayern Munich appears to want him badly, but it does have a price in mind that it will not likely exceed. Let the games begin!
Impressive Union Berlin center-back Leopold Querfeld could be on the move this summer:
đšđ Leopold #Querfeld is one to watch for the upcoming summer transfer window.
22 y/o centre-back has a release clause below his market value with one year left on his contract at Union Berlin.
Enquiries from the Bundesliga, Premier League, France and Italy. @SkySportDE đŠđč Querfeld has had a good season in the Bundesliga and could be an attractive target for several clubs this summer.
Manuel Neuerâs contract talks with Bayern Munich are reportedly escalating as it looks more and more like the veteran goalkeeper will come back for one more season:
â It is TRUE: Manuel Neuer is firmly in talks with Bayern over signing a one-year extension. His agent was already at SĂ€bener StraĂe for negotiations. Christoph Freund, the sporting director, was confirming this. Now, there are very positive signs coming out of the club that Neuer will sign a new contract. I met him after the match, and he, of course, wasnât in the right mood to discuss his contract. However, he didnât give me the impression that this would be his final Champions League match. You saw it in his eyes and the way he talked about the semi-final exit â this wouldnât be his final comments about Bayern in the Champions League. So, Iâm very sure that weâll see the 40-year-old back on the pitch for FC Bayern for one more year. Perhaps even a door will open for the World Cup as well.
The Bundestrainer, Julian Nagelsmann, made his nomination a little later than usual, so he could take a closer look at one or two players more this season. So, perhaps, thereâs a small chance that Manuel Neuer will join up with Germany for the World Cup.
Newcastle United and Chelsea are both reportedly hoping to land Darwin NĂșñez to help bolster their respective attacks:
Newcastle United and Chelsea are âkeeping tabsâ on Uruguay forward Darwin NĂșñez, according to the Daily Star. He left Liverpool to join Al Hilal in a ÂŁ46 million deal last summer, but has found himself frozen out at the Saudi Pro League and has agreed to mutually terminate his contract in search of first-team football. As such, NĂșñez will be a free agent in search of a club this summer, although it remains to be seen to what extent Premier League clubs are interested in his services.
Despite reports that Bayern Munich officials might not be happy with left-back Alphonso Davies, the Canadian star is not looking to leave the club:
â It is NOT TRUE: Alphonso Davies wants to secure a transfer away from Bayern Munich this summer. Of course, FC Bayern know that the Canadian has been struggling with injuries this term. So, there was a viewpoint that if the club were to receive a big offer for the left-back, they would have seriously discussed it. But I think recent matches have shown just how much Bayern need Davies. I had talks today about the 25-year-oldâs situation, and itâs not the case that the club feels heâs not the best option at left-back anymore. The key concern is his fitness levels, and you can see Bayern would benefit from Alphonso Davies being available on a more consistent basis. That much was certainly clear while he was sidelined in the treatment room.
I think Vincent Kompany will do everything to keep this player and get him fit again. If they want to win the Champions League â they need Alphonso Davies. So, I would say thereâs no chance at the moment for an interested party to sign him.
Liverpool and FC Barcelona are both reportedly interested in Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven:
Tottenham Hotspur have stalled in contract talks with defender Micky van de Ven, reports Football Insider. Liverpool and Barcelona have reportedly been monitoring the defenderâs availability. Van de Venâs contract still has three years remaining. Spurs had planned to sit down for contract talks before the end of the season, but the defender has delayed negotiations with the club still in danger of being relegated from the Premier League. *If you are looking for more Bayern Munich and German national team coverage, check out the latest episodes of Bavarian Podcast Works, which you can get on Acast, Spotify, Apple, or any leading podcast distributorâŠ*
