Bayern Munich has initiated contact with Newcastle United regarding Anthony Gordon, indicating serious interest. Meanwhile, Bayern's Uli Hoeneß discussed the ongoing contract negotiations with Konrad Laimer, suggesting a challenging standoff.
According to a report from Daily Mail journalist Craig Hope, things are progressing in Bayern Munich’s rumored pursuit of Newcastle United star Anthony Gordon. To date, we had heard that Bayern Munich had spoken to Gordon’s representative, but Hope says that the Bavarians and Newcastle have had preliminary talks:
Contact has now been made between Bayern and Newcastle over Anthony Gordon, albeit at an exploratory stage. Newcastle are also aware of what would appeal to Gordon this summer, and that definitely includes Bayern. If true, this is a good sign, but guarantees nothing. Any negotiations figure to be long, drawn out, and expensive for Bayern Munich. Even with that, it shows some real ambition for the Bavarians to get going so early in attempting to get Gordon. Liverpool, , and are all rumored to want Gordon as well.
Bayern Munich has made preliminary contact with Newcastle United about Anthony Gordon, signaling their ambition to pursue the player.
Uli Hoeneß expressed concerns about Laimer's salary demands, emphasizing that while Laimer is valued, he is not irreplaceable and must accept financial limits.
Liverpool, Arsenal, and FC Barcelona are also rumored to be interested in signing Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United.
Konrad Laimer's current contract with Bayern Munich is set to expire in 2027, and he will be available on a free transfer at that time.

Manchester United could be looking at Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni to help solidify its midfield for next season:
Manchester United have added Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni to their shortlist of potential options to replace Casemiro this summer, according to The Telegraph. Tchouameni, 26, could be allowed to leave the Bernabeu this summer alongside Eduardo Camavinga, with the club looking to seal a midfield signing of their own in the form of Manchester City’s Rodri. But the France international has a contract until 2028 and could command a fee upwards of €60 million.
Bayern Munich supervisory board member Uli Hoeneß broke down the contract talks that the club is having with Konrad Laimer. This probably will not make you feel confident that a deal will get done. “We won’t talk about concrete figures here. But when you read what’s supposedly being reported about his salary and demands, you have to put it into perspective. Konny is a player I value highly. He’s extremely important for the team, as well as for the club’s public image. He works incredibly hard for the team. But he’s not Maradona. And players like him have to accept that there are limits – even if they earn a very good salary,” Hoeneß said. “He still has a year left on his contract, and yet it’s sometimes portrayed as if he won’t be playing after July 1st. He’d be available on a free transfer [in 2027], and will be 30, which of course has to be taken into account. And what he currently earns is something very few clubs in Europe can even offer. “I don’t know exactly what Max and Christoph offered him, but it certainly wasn’t what his agents initially demanded. This has nothing to do with our general policy, but is a realistic assessment of his sporting and financial value. It’s high – but he’s no Harry Kane.”
Liverpool and Arsenal are rumored to be plotting pursuits of Paris Saint-Germain attacker Bradley Barcola:
Liverpool and Arsenal are on alert as Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola could become available this summer, according to TEAMtalk. With his contract expiring in 2028, the PSG forward’s representatives have reportedly begun work on looking at some potential moves, should an opportunity become available. Liverpool have been linked with the 23-year-old France international, as they look at replacements for Mohamed Salah, while Arsenal remain keen on strengthening their forward ranks. Barcola has 12 goals and seven assists across all competitions this season. At one point, Barcola was high on Bayern Munich’s list, but he was considered to be too expensive to procure.
If Chelsea wants to get FC Köln attacker Said El Mala it might have to pay as much as €50 million:
Said El Mala’s potential move to the Premier League this summer is not off! There’s another club the FC Köln star is interested in, and this is Chelsea.
“This is now the club that has their eye on El Mala. Cologne demand €50m [£43.1m]. Brighton would have been prepared to pay €35m, which was not enough for FC Köln. Of course, for El Mala, the move would have been nice; he’s earning about €1.5m at Cologne and Brighton offered €4m.
“But now, there’s a question: Is there a club out there prepared to pay €50m? The hope is that’s Chelsea. They are interested in the player, but if they’ll pay so much for a German talent remains to be seen – we don’t yet know! In the meantime, FC Köln would be happy to keep the 19-year-old winger.
“They’re working right now on a new deal with a supermarket chain that could supply the rest of the salary that El Mala would like to earn (€4m). That’s the Plan B if he isn’t sold. At the moment, it’s up to Chelsea and Said El Mala.” El Mala has 12 goals and five assists in 34 games this season, but that fee could be a little steep at this point. Good for FC Köln.
If there is one player on Paris Saint-Germain Uli Hoeneß would not mind seeing at Bayern Munich, it would be injured right-back Achraf Hakimi:
Speaking ahead of Bayern Munich’s Champions League semi-final second leg against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, Uli Hoeneß has revealed which player from the French champions he would sign if given the opportunity.
Asked the question by DAZN, Bayern’s honorary president named Achraf Hakimi, saying he believes the 27-year-old would be a strong fit at right-back.
“I would take him immediately, because he would fit in very well with us,” Hoeneß said. *If you are looking for more Bayern Munich and German national team coverage, check out the latest episodes of Bavarian Podcast Works, which you can get on Acast, Spotify, Apple, or any leading podcast distributor…*
