Bayern Munich's Lennart Karl may return to play against PSG in the Champions League after making progress in his recovery. He completed individual training but will miss the upcoming match against Mainz.
Lennart Karl made further progress in his recovery today. He completed an individual session with short & long sprints, dribbling and passing drills. Karl made a very good impression on the pitch. He’s unavailable against Mainz tomorrow but is hoping to make his comeback against PSG on Tuesday. In addition, Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany addressed Karl’s status during his press conference on Friday. The head coach did not sound as optimistic as the Tz report. “Fitness and injuries are a part of professional football. An injury in November isn’t the same as in May or April. There’s the World Cup coming up after that. It’s a time where you need to think about things, do the right things as a player. Lennart Karl has a hamstring injury. He won’t play tomorrow. Muscular injuries are different from just pain. They’re a part of football. With muscular injuries there’s a way of handling things. Maybe you can come back a couple of days earlier if things go well. But you can’t expect miracles,” Kompany said (as captured by ). Hmmm…is Kompany playing coy or will he continue a conservative approach with Karl and slowly ramp him up. *If you are looking for more Bayern Munich and German national team coverage, check out the latest episodes of Bavarian Podcast Works, which you can get on , , , or any leading podcast distributor…*
