With the 57th pick in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears have selected Iowa center Logan Jones.
After getting a likely day one starter at safety yesterday in Oregonâs Dillon Thieneman, today the Bears add a player who projects to be their 2027 starting center, while 30-year-old Garrett Bradbury mans the position this seaosn. However, I would not be surprised if Jones can win the job at some point as a rookie.
âHe was the best center in the country last year,â Iowa Hawkeyesâ writer John Bohnenkamp said about Jones. âWon the Remington trophy (as the nationâs top center), consensus all-American, really good guy in the locker room. I know (Iowa head coach) Kirk Ferentz really loved him. He won the award we give out to the players every year for being best with the media. Just a really good guy.â

Jones is lightning quick in his snap-to-step process and has an instinctive feel for leverage and blocking angles. With his vise-grip hands, he can latch, drive his feet and torque defenders to create running room. Though he has terrific range and recovery quickness, his lack of length stands out on reach blocks and when attempting to combat powerful defensive tackles in a phone booth. His competitive temperament and toughness are unquestioned â he taught himself to snap with his left hand while managing a right-hand injury in 2024.
