Ben White injury update: Arsenal dealt major blow for season's climatic games
Arsenal defender Ben White will miss the final games of the season β and possibly this summer's World Cup β due to a knee injury he suffered on Sunday, May 10.
White, 28, was removed in the first half of the Gunners' 1-0 win at West Ham. The victory kept Arsenal in control of its own destiny to win the Premier League with two more matches to play in the domestic season.
According to a club statement on Tuesday, May 12, White is out for the rest of Arsenal's campaign.
"Further to Sundayβs match at West Ham United, subsequent assessments and specialist reviews have confirmed that Ben White has sustained a significant medial knee ligament injury, which will rule him out for the remainder of this season," the statement read.
"Our medical team are now managing Benβs recovery and rehabilitation program with everyone fully focused on supporting the aim of Ben being ready for the start of our pre-season preparations."
Arsenal will also be without White for the UEFA Champions League final on May 30, the club's first trip to the European final since 2006.
With Jurrien Timber out injured, White has been deployed Arsenal's primary right back, starting four of the last five league matches. White has appeared in 31 matches across all competitions this season after losing a huge chunk of the 2024-25 season following knee surgery.
Christian Mosquera will likely start in White's place for the final Premier League games, but the Champions League final could be an enormous problem for Arsenal facing Paris Saint-Germain's Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, one of the most dynamic wingers in the world.

The Arsenal defender returned to the England squad during the last international window more than three years after he left the team during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar for personal reasons.
In March 2024, former England boss Gareth Southgate revealed that White had told the England camp he didn't want to be considered for the team, but denied reports that he or an assistant coach had run into personal issues with White.
White certainly wasn't assured of a spot in the 26-man World Cup roster, but given his versatility and ability to fill in at center back, he could be a major loss for Three Lions manager Thomas Tuchel.
