The Brutal Reality Facing Sheffield United This Transfer Window â Opinion
Sheffield United faces tough decisions in the upcoming transfer window.
Cincinnati Bengals rookie Cashius Howell commented on his contract status, noting he and Tacario Davis were the last unsigned rookies. Despite not having contracts, they signed participation waivers to join minicamp activities.
The Cincinnati Bengals avoided some major contract drama with top rookies over the last week or so.
Cashius Howell and Tacario Davis were the only two rookies who hadnât signed contracts for minicamp.
What they did do, though, was sign participation waivers that let them get on the field for work with their teammates, anyway.
Howell got asked about this last week and threw out a comment that onlookers will enjoy.
"I love football,â Howell said, according to WDTNâs Kayler Smith. âRegardless of the contract not being negotiated fully, doesn't really matter to me."
Itâs impossible not to draw comparisons between Howell and Shemar Stewart, the Bengalsâ first-round pick last year. Theyâre both edge defenders who worked together at Texas A&M.
Stewartâs long contract drama with the Bengals one year ago started roughly around the time he didnât sign that same participation waiver.
This isnât a totally fair comparison on the contract front. Howell was a second-round pick who doesnât have nearly as much leverage. The Bengals were trying to implement a new contract detail, starting with Stewart himself, too.
Even so, itâs going to be hard for fans not to enjoy this commentary from Howell, given the context.
Cashius Howell made a refreshing comment regarding his contract status, indicating a positive outlook despite being one of the last unsigned rookies.
Howell and Davis signed participation waivers to allow them to participate in minicamp activities despite not having signed contracts.
The last unsigned rookies for the Cincinnati Bengals are Cashius Howell and Tacario Davis.
