The Cincinnati Bengals received mixed reviews after their trade for New York Giants defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence.

You can place Bengals legend Andrew Whitworth in the latter group. Whitworth, an Amazon Prime analyst and former All-Pro left tackle, praised the move on X.
âMessage has been sent ⊠We are here to win now! Seize the Opp!,â Whitworth posted while sharing the report from NFL Networkâs Ian Rapoport.
Whitworth spent the first 11 seasons of his 16-year NFL career with the Bengals, earning two All-Pro honors and three Pro Bowl selections. He left for the Los Angeles Rams after the 2016 season when Cincinnati refused to offer him a long-term contract.
The Bengalsâ front office watched as Whitworth collected another first-team All-Pro honor with the Rams in 2017. Then, in Whitworthâs final season, Los Angeles defeated Cincinnati 23-20 in Super Bowl LVI. It represented the tackleâs lone championship.
Thatâs why some Cincinnati fans have a hard time hearing Whitworth describe the Bengals as âwe,â like he did in the X post.

But Whitworth had a hilarious response to that sentiment. He patiently listed his Cincinnati bona fides on X.
The 44-year-old Whitworth, who lives in Thousand Oaks, California, name-checked a few Cincinnati-adjacent celebrities in Nick Lachey, Charlie Sheen and Neil Armstrong.
The best part came when he wrote that he âpretended to like skyline chili when sober.â Skyline Chili is the Cincinnati-based restaurant chain famous for a polarizing Greek-style chili sauce served over spaghetti and hot dogs.
None other than current Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has expressed a distaste for Skyline. âI hate that stuff,â Burrow said.
Meanwhile, Whitworth mentioned other Cincinnati landmarks like Jeff Rubyâs Steakhouse and Montgomery Inn restaurants, Cincinnati Music Hall and the defunct Bang Nightclub.
Plus, all four of Whitworthâs children were born in Cincinnati.
âSo Iâll use âWeâ respectfully any damn time I want,â Whitworth posted, alongside a laughing emoji. âWho dey!â
