The offense has its usual question marks at the quarterback position, which will be sorted out this fall as the competition between Jeremy Hecklinski and Hank Brown continues. But the other side of the ball, while it is still getting the benefit of the doubt, could be of interest.

Describing the Iowa defense as less-experienced is solely in the form of snaps in live game action. The defense isn't trotting a load of freshmen and sophomores out there. The Hawkeyes are still going to consist of many upperclassmen who are experienced in the way of spending two, three, and four years learning the scheme.
Iowa's defense will have to adapt with only three returning starters and the fewest career FBS snaps among Power Four defenses.
