NEW CONCORD — Kendall Snider struck out 16 in a a two-hitter as host John Glenn cruised to a 5-0 win against West Muskingum in a Muskingum Valley League crossover in a high school softball game on April 16.
Nine players had hits for John Glenn, as Addison Babcock's double and single with an RBI led the way. The Muskies scored four times in the sixth to break open a 1-0 game, an inning aided by two errors with two outs.
Kaley Meddings' double was the highlight for West.
Sheridan 6, Crooksville 3: Megan Ranck struck out 12 and in a complete game and Avery Hall had three singles for the Generals, who had 12 hits in an MVL crossover win in Reading Township.
Lakelyn Haas and Nova Carpenter added triples and Kinley Leckrone and Peyton Pettit doubled for Sheridan; Elyse Baker drove in three runs with two doubles and pitched a complete game with six strikeouts for Crooksville.
Tri-Valley 6, Coshocton 3: Ava Neal, Camdyn Tyson and Larsyn Holdsworth contributed home runs for the the Scotties, who also received three singles and a stolen base from Alivia Reffitt in an MVL crossover win at Kenny Wolford Park.
Every Scottie in the lineup collected at least one hit. Gracie Hutton twirled 6 2/3 innings with four strikeouts to get the win. Kylie Raber belted a two-run homer and Savannah Gambill plated two runs with two singles and a walk for Coshocton.
Meadowbrook 6, River View 5 (8 inn.): The Lady Bears scored four times in the first inning to build an early lead, but the Colts rallied in an MVL crossover at Ron Tisko Field.
An RBI double from McKendall Boyer, who struck out five in four scoreless innings of relief, and RBI single from Natalee Norman in a three-run third inning tied the game; the Colts scored the go-ahead run in the eighth when Jordyn Vargeson reached on an error at shortstop, allowing Chloe Callahan to score.
Aurora Yoder drove in two runs with two singles for River View; Haylee doubled and singled and Hallie Wallace doubled for RV. Hall also pitched a complete game.
Philo 7, Maysville 4: Kyleigh McGraw doubled home the go-ahead run in a four-run fifth inning for the Electrics, who rallied to secure an MVL crossover win in Duncan Falls.
McGraw also singled and Cassidy Himes had two singles with an RBI for Philo; Lexi Charles offered a double. Himes collected seven strikeouts in a complete game to get the win.
Evee Matthews doubled and singled and Kendall Mitton drove in two with a single for Maysville.
New Lexington 9, Morgan 7: Caroline Dupler drove in three runs with a double and Mia Metzger plated two with a single to pace the visiting Panthers in an MVL crossover win in McConnelsville.
The Panthers had 15 hits as Corrine Thompson collected three singles out of the leadoff spot Lexi Buckman singled twice with two RBIs. Metzger also pitched a complete game with five strikeouts to earn the win.
Kaydence Maxwell belted a solo homer and singled for Morgan; Coleman Welsh added a double.
Tri-Valley 8, Coshocton 5: Isaiah Cullins had four hits and Ryan Lamonica blasted a pair of homers and drove in three for the Scotties, who had six extra-base hits among its 14 total in an MVL crossover win at Kenny Wolford Park.
Cullins had a double and three singles, Blayne Riley a triple and single and Jaxson Better a double and single, as the Scotties scored three times in the fifth to overcome five errors and a 5-4 deficit.
Cooper George plated two runs with two singles and Dylan Wood also singled twice for Coshocton. Quinton Hindel pitched 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief with three strikeouts to get the win.
Reynoldsburg 14, Rosecrans 7: Coen Grandstaff had three doubles and two RBIs in a losing cause for the visiting Bishops (5-3) in a nonleague clash with the Division I Raiders.
Carter Fitz and Nick Bernath added doubles and Jacobie Balo an RBI single and sacrifice fly for Rosecrans, which trailed 8-7 before the Raiders scored six times in the sixth to blow it open.
Maysville 6, Philo 2: K.J. Philip's two-run triple broker a tie game in the third inning and proved to be the difference in an MVL crossover win at the Philo Athletic Complex.
Philip also had an RBI single and Jack Lincicome plated two runs with a single and a walk for Philo, which had eight hits. Chase Colborn, who yielded just two hits and struck out six, pitched five innings to get the win.
Kolton Gifford's three singles accounted for all but one of the Panthers' hits. Trevor Hague took the loss but went the distance with eight strikeouts.
New Lex 12, Morgan 5: Gus Pearson, Wyatt Givens and Dalton Waite combined for four hits and seven RBIs for the Panthers in an MVL crossover win on the road.
Pearson had a double and single with three RBIs; Givens and Waite had two-run doubles as New Lex had 12 hits and drew five walks. Carter Simpson pitched four innings to get the win.
Witten Schaad drove in four runs with a homer and double and Casen Foley doubled and singled for Morgan.
West M 4, John Glenn 1: Preston Farrell struck out five in a five-hitter and clubbed a solo homer for the Tornadoes in am MVL win on the road.
Ashton Ansel added an RBI double for West, which took a 2-1 lead into the fifth. Jensen Parry and Owen Edwards had doubles for John Glenn; Parry and Rocco Sabino combined for four innings of one-hit relief.
Meadowbrook 13, River View 1: The Colts had a 14-4 edge in hits in an MVL crossover win in Warsaw.
Blaze Kline singled twice and Reid Johnson doubled for River View, which had six errors.
Zanesville 8, Lakewood 7: Kayson Hoff scored the go-ahead run on a passed ball in a three-run seventh inning as the Blue Devils overcame a two-run deficit to secure a Licking County League-Buckeye Division win in Hebron.
Caleb Hollins drove in three runs with a double and single and Maddox Mohler, Tyson Kimble and Solomon Norris had two singles as Zanesville built a 5-0 lead through two innings.
Mohler pitched 1 1/3 innings of shutout relief to get the win.
Ridgewood 3, Sandy Valley 1: Maison Kiser pitched a complete game and the streaking Generals (8-3) played without an error in close Inter-Valley Conference-South Division win in West Lafayette.
Jackson Cabot had two singles from the No. 9 hole, Logan Ridenbaugh doubled home a run and Wyatt Marlatt also doubled for Ridgewood, which won its sixth straight after a 2-3 start. Brody Harding singled and had a sacrifice fly.
Ridgewood 7, Sandy Valley 3: Addison Lahmers struck out 17 in a complete game and Jayden Jaras blasted a three-run homer for the Generals (12-3) in an Inter-Valley Conference-South Division win in West Lafayette.
Brittleigh Bates doubled in a run and Kaydence Lahna and Keira Schrock had two singles as Ridgewood scored five times in the fifth to open up a 7-0 lead.
Sheridan 14, 12, Philo 4, 2: The Generals showed why they remain a favorite to stay atop the MVL-Big standings with a pair of wins in a key series with the Electrics. Both games were mercies, including the opener in Duncan Falls.
Sheridan scored five times in the fifth inning of the rematch as Tandon Gramlich drove in three runs with a double and two singles after the Electrics led 2-0 in the first. Donny Helber plated two runs with a single to back Noah Wamer's complete game with six strikeouts and no walks.
Cooper Roush, Wyatt Tysinger and K.J. Philip singled twice and Garrett Tom doubled for Philo.

Freshman Tanner Henry hit a three-run homer in the first inning and pitched four innings with seven strikeouts to get the win in their game on April 14 in Warsaw; Jaxson Better plated three with a double and single and Isaiah Cullins doubled and singled with one RBI. Wyatt Loomis had two singles for River View.
In the first game in Dresden, Quinton Hindel's squeeze bunt in the sixth broke a 4-all tie in the bottom of the sixth, and Henry's two-run double extended the lead. Grady Lawler tripled and Blayne Riley doubled and singled; Karter Merryman struck out seven in 5 2/3 innings to get the win.
Brogan Shrimplin drove in two runs with two singles, Blaze Klein doubled and singled with an RBI and Clark Frischen and Reid Johnson doubled for RV; Werntz went the distance with nine strikeouts in a losing cause.
John Glenn 8, 6, Morgan 7, 3: The Muskies built a 7-3 lead in the first game and broke a tie game with three runs in the seventh in the second game in McConnelsville in the MVL-Big School Division.
Reid Howard singled twice with an RBI and Keegan Wolford sent home two runs with a single and twirled 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief for John Glenn.
Witten Schaad had two singles and Carter Larrick a double for Morgan. Coleman Steimer pitched a complete game, allowing two earned runs.

Wood's two-run homer was the highlight of the game in Byesville, but the Skins managed only four hits and had a pair of errors. Parker Loomis and Koltin Tidwell had RBIs.
New Lexington 9, 5, Maysville 10 (8 inn.), 3: New Lex rallied for a split with an April 14 win at home behind a four-run sixth inning — Dalton Waite had a two-run double — and Wyatt Givens' complete game.

West M 4, 3, Crooksville 1, 5: The Tornadoes managed a series split on April 14 in Falls Township behind Grady Dollings' one-hitter with nine strikeouts.
Ashton Ansel's two-run single in the fifth sent West ahead 2-1; he and Amari Harris had two singles. Jace Thompson's RBI single accounted for Crooksville's only offense. Thompson also pitched a complete game with five strikeouts.
On April 13 in McLuney, Joe Bob Pitcock sent home the tying and go-ahead runs with a double in the bottom of a four-run sixth inning to give the Ceramics their biggest win of the season. Brody Cottrell allowed three earned runs in a complete game to get the win.
Eli Sprankle added a triple and single for Crooksville; Ashton Ansel tripled and Silas Kuhn doubled for West. Ansel went the distance in the loss.
Licking Valley 10, Lakewood 4: The Blue Devils got within 7-4 after a three-run fifth behind Caleb Hollins' triple, but they couldn't complete the comeback in a Licking County League-Buckeye Division loss at Jay Payton Field.
Kayson Hoff added a double for the Blue Devils, who had four hits. Grayson Snow went four innings to get the win for LV.
Ridgewood 7, Sandy Valley 2: Jace McQueen launched a two-run homer to lead six General with extra-base hits in an Inter-Valley Conference-South Division win in Magnolia.
Caleb Schultz laced a pair of doubles and Bryce Harding, Jackson Cabot, Logan Ridenbaugh and Wyatt Marlatt had one as Ridgewood had 11 hits and scored all of its runs in the final four innings. Cabot and McQueen also singled.
Connor Croy yielded no earned runs in a complete game to secure the win.
Meadowbrook 13, 7, Coshocton 1, 1: The Colts hit two homers among their nine extra-base hits in the opener on the road on April 13, then rode a two-hitter with nine strikeouts from McKenna Boyer in the rematch in MVL-Small School play in Byesville.
Jazlene Brown had a double in Game 2 for Coshocton, while Jaelyn Allen and Kylee Raber had singles in the first game.
West M 8, 17, Crooksville 0, 0 (5 inn.): Callie Smith drove in six runs on seven hits in the two games as the Tornadoes swept the season set with wins in McLuney on April 13 and at home in April 14.
Smith had four doubles — two in each game — and had five RBIs in the second game. It backed Brooklyn Pride's three run-homer, Payton Brown's double and two singles and Katelyne Stewart's one-hitter.
Gabi Hammer slugged a two-run homer and Brown doubled and singled in Game 1; Fraylee Williams yieled only three hits and struck out six. Paige Frame had a double and single for Crooksville.
John Glenn 6, 5, Morgan 0, 3: Addison Babcock, Ava Miller and Kendall Snider cracked home runs in the rematch in McConnelsville to secure an MVL-Big School sweep for the Muskies on April 13.

Tri-Valley 4, 6, River View 3, 1: The Scotties took both meetings with the neighboring Lady Bears in an MVL-Big School series.
Megan Kozusko's two-run homer was the big blow in the nightcap for the visiting Scotties, while she also pitched a four-hitter with no walks. Gerran Matthews doubled and singled with an RBI.
Matthews also had three hits in Game 1, backing Gabby Prati's double and single as Tri-Valley led 4-1 and held on.
Kelsey McClellan had a double in Game 2 for River View; Shieann Waldren had three singles and Hallie Wallace two in Game 1 in Dresden.
