The New York Giants decided to move Dexter Lawrence in a trade on Saturday and two of the biggest winners from the deal aren't on Big Blue's roster, at least not yet.
The blockbuster trade involving Lawrence saw the Giants send him to the Cincinnati Bengals for the No. 10 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft.
The move came after the Giants and Lawrence couldn't hammer out a new contract, something Lawrence had been seeking for multiple years. Now, he'll get a new deal from the Bengals after what was a costly but needed move for Cincinnati.
It goes without saying that having two picks inside the top 10 of this week's draft changes things for the Giants, and it also helps both a veteran free agent and a prospect in the 2026 NFL draft.

Jordyn Tyson
We know the Giants need another wide receiver to help star wideout Malik Nabers and quarterback Jaxson Dart after Big Blue let Wan'Dale Robinson leave for the Tennessee Titans in free agency.
We also know that Tyson is widely viewed as one of the best wide receivers, if not the best wide receiver in the 2026 NFL Draft class.
The only concern with Tyson has been his injury history, but he appears to have put those fears to bed after a strong workout in front of about 20 teams, one of which was the Giants.
"I think Jordyn Tyson goes much higher than earlier expected," ESPN's Matt Miller said. "Teams are comfortable with the (injury) history. Conversation for him starts at 5 but he's off the board no later than 16."
Now that the Giants are armed with another top-10 selection, the odds that Tyson will be taken inside the top 10 have greatly increased.
D.J. Reader
Almost a week before the Lawrence trade went down, the Giants brought in veteran free-agent defensive tackle D.J. Reader for a visit. We don't think that was an early indication the Giants were going to trade Lawrence, as Big Blue already had a desperate need for more help on the interior.
But with Lawrence gone, that need becomes even more dire, and that gives Reader more leverage in contract talks with the Giants, which could make him a bit more money.
Nevertheless, Reader should be the Giants' No. 1 priority. Granted, Big Blue could add a defensive tackle in the 2026 NFL Draft, but this isn't a strong class at the position and the Giants would be wise to add a veteran, also.
Once considered an elite defensive tackle, Reader isn't in that class anymore but he is still an effective player and would offer a one-year stopgap until New York can figure out the long-term plan.
In 2025 with the Detroit Lions, Reader notched four tackles for loss and posted Pro Football Focus grades of 72.6 in the pass-rush and 61.7 in run defense.
