Bills adding more speed and yards after catch with UConn WR Skyler Bell

The Buffalo Bills are leaning heavily into athletic traits on Day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft. UConn receiver Skyler Bell is the pick for the Bills at 125th overall, and he’s a very dynamic athlete.

Bell has a ton of college production and is very explosive with the ball in his hands. He was one of the best players in the country after the catch in 2025. Bell averaged a whopping 8.2 yards after reception this past year.

Bell has excellent ability to gear up/down in and out of his breaks. There’s nothing that Bell can’t do on a football field. He really has no limitations from his movement ability.

Past drop issues have plagued him, and he’s a 24-year old player — which are certainly factors into why he’s available in Round 4. He’s not someone who plays through physicality well, and he does need to clean his route technique up a good bit. Many of the things Bell struggles with are focus-related and potentially teachable with the technique and potential to improve on drop problems.

Overall, the Bills have physicality and ball winners on their team already. They have been missing some elements of speed in their offense. The addition of DJ Moore and Skyler Bell have significantly changed the way NFL teams need to respect Buffalo vertically.
