It's no secret that the Buffalo Bills wanted to bolster their defense this offseason, especially considering the expected losses and having a new coordinator in Jim Leonhard.
And the Bills have done that to an extent, especially in the draft, where the Bills welcomed a handful of new faces to the defensive side of the ball.
But have they done enough to push for a Super Bowl? That can be argued.
With free agency still going, the Bills could look for some shrewd veteran players to bolster their defense.
And NFL.com's Matt Okada has named defensive end Calais Campbell as a player Buffalo should target.
“Depending on how new DC Jim Leonhard deploys his available assets -- and how healthy Ed Oliver can stay in 2026 -- Campbell could be an impactful part-time piece as a three- or four-technique tackle," Okada wrote. "He’s recorded at least five sacks in four straight seasons and logged Pro Football Focus’ sixth-highest run-defense grade among interior defenders over that span.”

His age (39) could cause the Bills to think twice, but in his last four seasons, Campbell has at least 5.0 sacks and has played all 17 games in three of those seasons.
So, he is hardly limping to the finish line, but just don't expect him to have a high snap count on defense.
He signed a $5.5 million deal last season with the Arizona Cardinals, so a similar deal could be forthcoming if the Bills see value.
With the Bills needing to get moving in their chance for a Super Bowl, maybe a pinch-hitting sack artist is what Leonhard's defense needs.
