The Toronto Blue Jays are struggling with an 8-13 record, leading to speculation about potential trades. Kevin Gausman, their ace pitcher, is viewed as a prime candidate for a trade if the team's performance doesn't improve.

If the Toronto Blue Jays don't figure things out over the next few months, there's a very good chance the organization will adopt a different approach and move on from players. Currently, 8-13, a lot of the reason for the Blue Jays’ struggles has been due to their injuries.
It's been an unfortunate start to the season for Toronto, with the injuries it's dealt with, but that's the nature of the game sometimes. The Blue Jays still have to go out and play good baseball, something they haven't been able to do.
If this continues, some believe there's a possibility to move on from certain players, with Kevin Gausman, a right-handed starter, being a name that has continued to come up.
“Gausman is probably the primary name to watch. He carries the most value in a league where postseason-caliber pitching is always at high demand. Cease inked a seven-year contract a few months ago, so in theory, the Jays have their frontline ace of the future on the roster already.
“That doesn't mean Gausman is expendable on a winning team. If Toronto ends up punting to 2027, however, it's much easier to justify trading the two-time All-Star. The Jays can still get a nice haul,” Christopher Kline of FanSided wrote.
Moving on from Gausman would be tough to see for a few different reasons, especially because of how good he is, but if Toronto can get a decent return for his services, considering he's a free agent in 2027, it probably isn't off the table right now.
Kevin Gausman is viewed as a trade candidate due to the Blue Jays' poor start to the season and his high value as a postseason-caliber pitcher.
The Toronto Blue Jays currently have a record of 8-13.
The Blue Jays' struggles this season are largely attributed to injuries affecting the team's performance.
