The Toronto Blue Jays parted ways with a left-handed pitcher earlier in the week.
Now, he's already back with the organization.
Confused? Here's what happened.
Earlier in the week, the Blue Jays designated lefty Josh Fleming for assignment. That removed him from assignment and put him on waivers.
Fleming cleared waivers, but as a veteran, he could elect free agency, and he did so.
No one else signed him as a free agent, though, and so Fleming signed back with the Blue Jays.
He was with Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday and threw five scoreless innings.

Fleming had made just one appearance at the MLB level so far this year. In that outing, he went 3.0 innings and allowed four earned runs.
The Blue Jays had to cycle him back out to get fresh arms back in their bullpen, but clearly they still wanted him around at least a bit.
Fleming explored his options and apparently realized it made the most sense right now for him to stick around in the Blue Jays' system in hopes of getting another chance.
A solid outing for Buffalo only helps his cause, and so after getting let go, Fleming may return to the majors sooner rather than later.
