"I mean, I don’t really put expectations on it. I’ve just expected it to hurt," Springer said on Tuesday. "I’m not going into it thinking it’s going to feel good, and then when it hurts, I just get angry about it. It’s a broken bone. So, you know, not much I could do besides just say, ‘Screw it, is what it is.’"

Regarding when Springer could be back, it was reported that the veteran might be targeting a Friday return, which would be a home game in the first contest of a three-game set against the Cleveland Guardians.

“While a Friday return remains the optimistic target, Springer is finding ways to navigate the mental frustration of being sidelined by staying as active as possible within the clubhouse,” Courtney Hollmon of MLB.com wrote.

Springer, despite being older in his career now, is still a very good player and somebody Toronto needs back as soon as possible.
