The 19-year old Parker is just beginning his journey to what the Blue Jays hope is a job as their shortstop of the future.
They chose him with the eighth overall pick in the 2025 MLB Draft out of Purvis High School in Mississippi.
At 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, Parker already has major league physicality. It'll just be about adjusting to the speed of the game as he moves up the minor league ladder.
He didn't actually play any games last year after being drafted, so this is his first pro action.
Parker now has nine games in with Dunedin, and he's 9-for-33 (.273) with four doubles, a home run, nine RBI and three steals in three attempts. He's got an .899 OPS in the early going.
There's a long path still to travel for Parker, but along the way, Blue Jays fans are going to be quite excited to follow what looks like it'll be a very promising journey.
