The Toronto Blue Jays made the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers, and were agonizingly close to winning it all in Game 7.
This year, they were hopeful for another World Series appearance. But things are not going well. But it's not just simple struggles on offense or with the pitching staff. There are injuries and brutal series losses plaguing the team so far.
As Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report handed out, the only grade possible for this Blue Jays season so far is an "F." It's been a disaster, and it's a whole lot worse than the 7-12 start indicates.
"Like Baltimore, Toronto has been ravaged by the injury bug," Miller writes. "...Even so, the reigning ALCS champs are losing home series to Colorado and Minnesota, and getting swept at the White Sox was not on our preseason Bingo card."
Those brutal series losses and the sweep in Chicago were some bad moments amid this brutal start. But the far more worrying results so far have been the injuries.
Cody Ponce is likely done for the season with a torn ACL. Alejandro Kirk is going to miss some time with an injury, as is George Springer and Addison Barger.

Anthony Santander is also out for some time, and the Blue Jays have yet to see Trey Yesavage, Jose Berrios, or Shane Bieber make an appearance in the Majors this season.
The team is dealing with multiple injuries to key players in both the lineup and the starting rotation. Add in Kazuma Okamoto posting a .553 OPS so far, and the Blue Jays have been a major disappointment this season so far.
There's still time to recover, as it's only 19 games into the Major League season. But if the players don't get healthy soon and the struggles continue, the Blue Jays might be facing some awkward questions come the trade deadline.
The Blue Jays received an 'F' grade due to a combination of injuries, poor performance, and brutal series losses during their 7-12 start to the season.
As of now, the Toronto Blue Jays have a record of 7 wins and 12 losses in the 2026 MLB season.
The Blue Jays are facing challenges including injuries to key players and significant losses in crucial series, impacting their overall performance.
