The 2026 Toronto Blue Jays are a whole lot different than what they looked like in 2025. After making the World Series and being just one game from winning it all, the Blue Jays have struggled mightily this season.
At 13-16 on the season, the Blue Jays are only a game and a half up on the Boston Red Sox for last place in the AL East. They're also 6.5 games back of the New York Yankees atop the division.
But there is a simple fix for this team. As ESPN's Alden Gonzalez points out, the fix is simply to get healthy. And on Wednesday, George Springer began to help fix things for Toronto by coming off the injured list.
The Toronto Blue Jays currently have a record of 13-16 in the 2026 season.
George Springer has recently returned from the injured list and is expected to help improve the team's performance.
The Blue Jays are currently in a precarious position, just a game and a half above the Boston Red Sox for last place in the AL East.

"Can they fix it?: They can -- by getting healthier," Gonzalez writes. "The Blue Jays welcomed Trey Yesavage back off the injured list Tuesday, and several other reinforcements could be on the horizon."
Toronto is getting Springer back on Wednesday and has already gotten Yesavage back into the rotation.
But, there are still plenty of players that the team could use back in their lineup or their pitching staff this season.
Alejandro Kirk's return would be huge, as would Nathan Lukes and Addison Barger's. All three can return this season, but their timelines are all a little more uncertain. But, once any one of them returns, the Blue Jays will be in a much better spot as a team.
And in the pitching staff, Shane Bieber, Jose Berrios, and Max Scherzer are all on the injured list. There are others on the IL as well, like Cody Ponce and Bowden Francis, but only Scherzer, Berrios, and Bieber can return this season.
Toronto has been dealt the injury bug this season, and while things haven't gone well so far, if they can begin to get players like Springer and Yesavage back, they could turn this season around in a big way.
