The past few years for Duran have been turbulent media-wise, but he’s also been a top star for Boston.
However, this season Duran is having a massive slump, slashing .194/.253/.324/.577 with six doubles, four home runs, and 18 RBI in 35 games. On top of that, he’s been a target of critics, as he flipped off a heckling fan for an arguably justified reason earlier this season. But, he also recently called out an NBC Sports Boston analyst on Instagram for a take on Red Sox injuries, which then led to Duran deleting his account.
With the logjam in the outfield, Boston could decide enough is enough, and decide to move on from Duran.

However, he may not be the first to go. That could be the struggling Story, as other teams could look into him as a potential trade candidate.
Story’s slump isn’t as bad as Duran’s, but it’s not much better. He’s hitting .200/.236/.284/.520 with seven doubles, two home runs, and 18 RBI in 38 games.
Packaging Story and Duran might work as a trade offer, especially to a team like the New York Mets, who are also struggling.
Caleb Durbin

Finally, Caleb Durbin is probably having the worst slump of all, but he’s not really on the hot seat, at least for a trade. He’s slashing .173/.255/.252/.507 with seven doubles, a home run and 14 RBI in 38 games.
However, even with that pitiful offense, his defense has been amazing at the hot corner. IF anything, giving him a stint in the minors to find his swing is probably what’s most likely to happen.
