For the second year running, the captain of Team USA appears to have found some significant form, with Brandt Snedeker winning the Myrtle Beach Classic this past week.
Snedeker clinched his first PGA Tour win in nearly eight years in the opposite-field event in South Carolina. The victory also takes the 45-year-old into double figures across his career on the tour.
While many of the best players were at Quail Hollow for the Truist Championship, there was still an impressive field at Myrtle Beach, with the likes of Brooks Koepka, Billy Horschel, and Rasmus Hojgaard all involved.
With that, some may be wondering whether Snedeker could be about to make a dramatic charge to qualify for his own Presidents Cup team later this year.
Of course, the debate over whether Keegan Bradley would be a playing-captain at the 2025 Ryder Cup rumbled on right until the moment he announced his sixth and final pick for Bethpage.
Bradley played well enough to make the team, winning the Travelers Championship along the way. However, he opted to leave himself out.

Snedeker was asked on Dan on Golf about the prospect of being a playing-captain at Medinah, and he insisted that not even a victory will tempt him to tee it up in September.
Brandt Snedeker discussed whether he could select himself for the Presidents Cup if he wins the PGA Championship.
With his recent victory, Brandt Snedeker has a total of ten PGA Tour wins in his career.
Notable players at the Myrtle Beach Classic included Brooks Koepka, Billy Horschel, and Rasmus Hojgaard.

“Yeah, there’s not going to be a problem with that. I’m not even on my own radar. Don’t worry about it,” he said.
“No [nothing will change that]. Even if I win next week, it’s still not going to happen.”
Snedeker is probably aware that the chances of winning at Aronimink are so slim that there is no point entertaining the idea of playing in Illinois.
He currently sits 56th in the standings. And the buzz surrounding Bradley ultimately did Team USA no favours as the decision did go right down to the wire.
Ultimately, any other captain would have surely picked Bradley to be on the team.
It will surprise no one to know that Scottie Scheffler and Cameron Young currently occupy the top two qualification spots for the American side.
If qualification ended today, Russell Henley, Ben Griffin, Collin Morikawa, and J.J. Spaun would also make the team.
Jacob Bridgeman, Chris Gotterup, Harris English, Akshay Bhatia, Xander Schauffele, and Justin Thomas are the next six names in the standings.
If Snedeker repeated what Jim Furyk did ahead of Royal Montreal in 2024, those are the players who would round off the team.
But with three majors still to play for, there are likely to be plenty of twists before Snedeker names his final team.
