The Atlanta Braves have been one of the best teams in Major League Baseball in 2026, and their 30-13 record is the best in baseball. No other team is even at 29 wins this season.
While they've gotten here thanks to some incredible pitching and elite production from Ozzie Albies, Matt Olson, and other stars, some other players have been surprisingly productive.
Robert Murray of Fansided.com highlighted these two unlikely stars for the Braves, with both being low-key moves that other teams in MLB are likely kicking themselves for not making.
"The Braves have the best record in baseball and have had players such as Matt Olson, Drake Baldwin, Ozzie Albies, and Michael Harris II step up," Murray writes. "But two offseason additions, and Dom Smith, have been revelations early on for Atlanta."

While plenty of the top-tier offseason pickups in the trade and free agency markets are performing well, the regret over not pursuing them doesn't compare to the regret over these two Braves stars.
Of the two, Mauricio Dubon might be the least regretful one, as he wasn't a free agent, but rather a trade. But that doesn't mean there are teams that shouldn't regret not pursuing this star utilityman.
Dubon has been an all-rounder for the Braves this season, playing some shortstop, left field, center field, and even some third base this season.
But his versatility isn't all he's good for. This season, he's hitting .263 with a .736 OPS, well above his career average of .673 OPS. And as good as Dubon has been, Smith has been even better.
MLB clubs should all regret passing on Smith, as he's putting up some truly elite numbers this season as a left-handed-hitting designated hitter.
Through 33 games and 89 plate appearances, Smith has 29 hits, 13 runs scored, three doubles, four homers, 18 RBIs, four walks, 12 strikeouts, and a .358 batting average with a .930 OPS.
Smith didn't even sign a Major League deal in free agency, as his contract was a minor league offer that he's turned into a great season in the Majors.
He's the exact kind of hitter so many clubs could use. But, instead, he's on a stacked Braves roster dominating in a role that's not even full-time.
So many MLB clubs would've loved to have both of these players, and yet, they all skipped over this duo, and let the rich get richer with Dubon and Smith thriving in Atlanta.
