The New York Jets drafted former FSU defensive lineman Darrell Jackson Jr. in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, taking him with the 103rd overall pick, and he is now eligible to sign his rookie contract with them.
The contract is a four-year deal worth a projected $5,516,640 according to Spotrac. The deal includes a signing bonus of $1,271, 640 and an average annual value of $1,379,160. He was the ninth defensive tackle taken in the draft and is expected to be the only Seminole selected.
Jackson spent three seasons with the Seminoles, sitting out in 2023 after transferring in from the Miami Hurricanes. He started all 25 games he was eligible for, recording 80 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, and one forced fumble. He made the All-ACC Honorable Mention team after both seasons.
FSU has now had a player taken in 43 straight drafts, the seventh-longest active streak in the country. He is FSU's 303rd all-time draft pick and the 58th defensive lineman selected.
The Jets have loved drafting Seminoles, taking five in the last six years and 12 overall. He will join his former teammate Azareye'h Thomas in New York, whom they took in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
