Brest target PSG director Yohan Cabaye
With GrĂ©gory Lorenzi nearing an exit from Stade Brestois, the Breton club are potentially in the market for a new sporting director this summer, and their attention has turned to the Director of Paris Saint-Germainâs Academy, Yohan Cabaye, according to a report from LâĂquipe.
Lorenzi is attracting interest from clubs across France, however, his most likely destination is OGC Nice. Le Gymare long-term admirers and the sporting director role at the club is expected to be vacated by Florian Maurice at the end of the season.
However, Lorenzi wonât depart without a replacement being found. Brest have now set their sights on Cabaye. The former PSG and Newcastle United midfielder has been the Director of *Les Parisiensâ*Academy since October 2024 and recently acquired the UEFA Pro Licence, which will allow him to exercise functions at a professional club.
Cabaye himself feels ready to assume the role of sporting director at a Ligue 1 club and he may make that step come the summer. There would be a lot of work at Brest, with many of the clubâs players out of contract at the end of next season.
