The Milwaukee Brewers are about to face their biggest test of the season to date.
The challenge? Facing reigning Cy Young-winning pitchers on back-to-back days.
Tarik Skubal will take the mound for the Detroit Tigers on Thursday, and Paul Skenes of the Pittsburgh Pirates is scheduled for Friday's series opener against the Brewers.
According to MLB.com's Adam McCalvy, this has happened just once before.
"That’s only happened once before -- last May, when [David] Hamilton’s Red Sox drew Skubal on a getaway day in Detroit, then came home two days later to host Chris Sale and the Braves in Boston," McCalvy wrote Thursday.
"The Red Sox were the first team to face the reigning Cy Young Award winners in consecutive games, and while they lost both contests, they did manage to score five runs on seven hits off Skubal. Hamilton, a left-handed hitter, was limited to pinch-running duties in both games."

The Brewers acquired Hamilton from the Red Sox in a six-player trade during the offseason.
“Lucky us,” Hamilton told McCalvy about facing Skubal and Skenes in consecutive days, before Wednesday's loss to the Tigers.
This should be an interesting challenge for the Brewers, manager Pat Murphy told McCalvy.
“It’s happened once, only?” Murphy asked. “What a great challenge. The game is so hard, to produce, score runs, and all of that. It’s a hard game. So getting this opportunity, think of the upside for your team. Especially with our position players out.”
