On Wednesday afternoon, the Milwaukee Brewers are set to take on the St. Louis Cardinals for a match between the two National League Central powerhouses. The first match between the two sides went the way of the Cardinals, as theyâd win 6-3, in part due to some important at-bats from Ivan Herrera, who had two hits with three RBIs to his name.
This isnât to say that the Brewersâ bats were alive, as they recorded 11 hits across the nine-inning affair, but wouldnât get their runners home enough.
It appears that Milwaukee will be making a small change to their starting lineup for the second match, as theyâll be without center fielder Garrett Mitchell, who has been scratched due to an illness, as reported by MLB.comâs Adam McCalvy.

This absence from the starting lineup will come at a rough patch of the season for Mitchell, who has only recorded four hits across his last 22 at-bats in his previous five games. His recent struggles from the batterâs box can be a reflection of his performance out of the gates this season, slashing .219/.364/.333 in his 32 appearances.
Among the other lineup switches, it appears that Tyler Black will get a start for the first time since last week.
First pitch between the Brewers and the Cardinals is slated for 1:15 p.m. EST.
