Now that the NFL draft is over, teams are inviting rookies far and wide to showcase their skills and impress the coaches at rookie minicamp tryouts. One of the players the Denver Broncos are inviting to rookie minicamp has a special connection to the state of Colorado
Fort Collins native Tommy Thomas received an invite from the hometown team to participate in next month's minicamp. Thomas (6-2, 190 pounds) went to Nebraska's Chadron State, a Division II school. As a member of the Eagles, Thomas led the Eagles in career receiving touchdowns, career receptions and finished second all-time in receiving yards. In 2025, Thomas was recognized as an AP Division II second-team All-American, a Don Hansen second-team All-American, a first-team All-RMAC and a D2CCA second-team All-Region receiver.
Although you may not have heard of Chadron State (Nebraska), the Broncos came calling Thomas' name. Check out some of his highlights in the video below!
Thomas now has the incredible opportunity to make his mark on Broncos coaches, to show them he belongs in the NFL. Rookies, drafted, undrafted and invited, will attend rookie minicamp in May.
